Hammertime Construction recently completed a full kitchen renovation in Voorhees, New Jersey, transforming an outdated and closed-in space into a modern, open, and highly functional kitchen. The original layout and finishes no longer met the homeowner’s needs, so this project focused on a complete overhaul from structure to final finishes.

Design Elements: Opening the Space & Improving Functionality
This renovation started with a major structural and layout transformation. The team removed existing drywall and replaced windows to bring in more natural light and create a more open feel throughout the kitchen.
Flooring was completely removed, including laminate, hardwood, and subfloor materials, to allow for a fresh start and proper installation of new tile flooring. The layout was redesigned to improve flow and usability, including the addition of a dedicated coffee bar area with a mini sink and pot filler, adding both convenience and a custom touch to the space.
The conversion from an electric stove to gas was another key upgrade, giving the homeowner more control and performance for cooking.
Material Selection: Clean Finishes with Warm Tones
The kitchen features 21st Century cabinetry in a barley finish, offering a warm and natural tone that complements the overall design. Quartz countertops were selected for their durability and clean appearance, providing a bright contrast to the cabinetry.
The new tile flooring adds both texture and durability, tying together the entire space while standing up to everyday wear. Stainless steel appliances complete the kitchen, delivering a modern look with reliable performance.
